I have been into fashion for a very long time...I understand new artists coming out with a look and an image that separates them from the rest....I believe that in the case of Nicki Minaj becoming a huge and successful artist this is what steps had to be taken.

Whether she's sporting pink cotton candy type hair, or bombshell blonde and looking like a Fabulous Black imitation of Barbie or a pop of purple to make her beautiful complexion stand out even more. Whichever look she had and no matter how she wore them locks she always KILLED it.

But I have to say I love love love her look now. She is beyond a beautiful young lady.

E! News caught up with Nicki, and she revealed that her new look isn't actually so new. Before she hit the mainstream years ago, apparently Nicki favored this more natural look over the over-the-top look she became known for. So she's gone full circle.

"Before my first album, I used to have a natural look," said Nicki. "Only my really underground followers knew that side of me."

Nicki is one of those people who can make any outfit her own, even if it is a simple long black dress—like the one she wore to the MTV Movie Awards the other week. Sure, the outfit may have been more conservative than past years, but it's still sexy and curve-hugging.

   Bold brows can read as masculine, but at Carolina Herrera, makeup artist Diane Kendal went for a less androgynous take: "They're slightly more arched than they've been in other shows, and that makes them more feminine," she said. Paired with the pinkish-purple stained lips (which Kendal created by swiping on M.A.C. Lipstick in Boysenberry and blotting it away), the overall effect was sophisticated and elegant. SEE MORE
